Back at the wheel.

I've let to much go in terms of my own work. So I'm digging in the past and pulling out all those "Intended" project. Starting with good 'ol Sid Intrepid. A 1950's esc movie serial super hero.

Original pen and pencil sketches.

Playing with the concept. (On left: A "Saturday morning cartoon" reboot.) (On right: a child like drawing of same)

These are just other concepts and since I have yet to develop my own style I wanted to see how many ways I could re envision the concept.

The next stage will be to expand the world he exists in. I may even go as far as creating some props for reference. (Who am I kidding, I just want a jet pack.)

Tales from the road...

To the three people that read this blog. Its always a comfort to know that people you admire have been where you are. Shows that it is possible and there is no "Right" way to do something. John K. Gave a great lecture about the kind of animation that inspired him. Ben McEvoy & Mike Valiquette discussed The industry and gave some great tips on standing out. My last workshop of the day (hosted by Brett Long, Nick Cross, Nick Fox, & Winston Hacking) covered what the pro's have tried in terms of creating, distributing, branding & making money. I'll write up more when I have some time.
